Today I saw the power of God work in my life once again. I was scheduled to leave the Dallas Lovefield Airport at 11:15AM on Southwest Airlines. I was to return to Tulsa this morning to catch my flight on United and return to Denver. When my friends and I arrived we discovered my flight was canceled. (Due to a lapse in my attention to detail, I had failed to check on my flight status before we started to the airport.) The entire state of Oklahoma and parts of surrounding states were covered in ice and there was a power outage at the airport in Tulsa. The agent at the ticket counter told us they could put me on a flight to Denver through Kansas City or I could try to fly to Tulsa later that afternoon. In our conversation we decided it might be the easiest to change my United flight to fly directly out of DFW to Denver. As we headed out of Dallas Lovefield, I called Doyle and let him know what was going on and then I called United reservations to change my flight. Well, you know how it is to talk to the pleasant voice on the recording and I just cancelled the call. I had barely hung the phone up and it rang. I answered and it was a United representative calling to tell me my flight from Tulsa to Denver had been canceled and they had changed my reservation to 4:00PM for the following day. I shared with her that I was on my way to DFW and asked her if it was possible to change that reservation for one direct from DFW to Denver for this afternoon. She said, "well yes if that's what you want to do". It took her about two minutes to make the changes and get me on a flight out of DFW at 12:57PM. We arrived at the airport, checked my bags, received my paper ticket and I was on my way through security. I was so excited about what God had done for me! We were all encouraged!
As I shared all of this with Doyle, I received some instruction by the Spirit of God. Col.2:5,"For though I be absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit..". It was the wisdom of God to get me on a direct flight to Denver and another confirmation that this work is ordained by Him and it is coming out of Doyle's heart. It is a great comfort and encouragement to me to know, that wherever God sends me, Doyle is with me in the Spirit.
If we will trust this power that raised Jesus from the dead it will provide what we need, in every situation. As He put together a new flight plan right before my eyes, I saw salvation. I encourage you, believe this gospel.
